How to Play Jewel Splash
The basic idea of Jewel Splash is to complete the assigned tasks before the water fills the room and extinguishes all of the torches. Tasks consist of arranging three or more "like" jewels in a row, either horizontally or vertically. You have to swap jewel positions in order to achieve this. Once you have an approved combination, the jewels disappear from the board and new jewels replace them. This is done so that there are always combinations on the board and if ever there isn't, the entire board is dumped and new jewels appear. In the top left corner is the task key. It tells you the color of the jewel and required amounts to of combinations to get in order to complete your task. Each task also has sub tasks that disappear on the board once completed. You can see the total number of tasks in a particular level above where the tasks are displayed. Orange areas are normal tasks and yellow areas are bonus tasks. The mask symbol shows you how many tasks you have already completed and how many are still to be pending. The water begins to fill the room as soon as you start, so speed and concentration are a must. There two ways to control or swap the jewels.

Of course, this game wouldn't be complete without special jewels with special powers! You receive golden special jewels for completing tasks. To activate it, you have to form a combination using the special jewel at least two like colored jewels. This sinks the water level a little. The special jewel is then placed on a group of rocks at the bottom of the screen. The rocks, once filled with the special jewels break away the dam holding the water in and the water flows out. Once the water is all out, the treasure chest can be opened. It can only be opened when the water is gone. If the water begins to extinguish the torches, your time is running out.
There are a total of four levels in Jewel Splash that get increasingly harder to complete the goal. It takes the water about 60 seconds to reach the top of the game board with no interruptions. You can stall it, of course, with your special jewels and your water bucket.
Creating combinations of three like jewels gets you fifty points, four gets you one hundred points, and five gets you two hundred points. Completing a sub task gets you five hundred points. When you activate the golden special jewel you get five hundred points for the first one, one thousand points for the second, and fifteen hundred points for the third one. If torches are still lit at the end of a level you get two hundred and fifty points for the first level, five hundred for the second level, one thousand points for the third level, and two thousand points for the fourth and final level. If all the torches are burning at the end of a level, it is called a perfect level. You get one thousand points for the first level, two thousand points for the second level, four thousand points for the third level, and eight thousand points for the fourth level. Once each level is completed you get points in increments of three thousand. Therefore, you get three thousand for the first level, six for the second, nine for the third, and twelve for the last level. If you haven't used any water buckets you get points increments of four thousand and five hundred instead of three thousand!

The main thing that will help you in this game is to focus and be quick. With the water rising and time running out you have to remain calm and combine as many like jewels as possible. Here are some strategy tips to use when playing:
- Make sure to concentrate on completing tasks.
- It is a smart idea to utilize the specials as soon as possible once they have been received. This will keep the water from rising over the torches.
- You can also click on a water bucket that you've earned to save yourself a little time. You earn water buckets by completing the bonus tasks on each level and they carry over to each new level as long as you do not use them. You get bonus points for not using then as well.
- Bombs are created when you create combinations of 4 of like jewels or form two groups of 3 like jewels with one combination. When you use the bomb in another combination later it blows up the 9 adjacent jewels to the bomb. If one of the adjacent jewels is also a bomb it will set off the adjacent jewels to that bomb as well!
- If you form 5 like jewel combinations you will be rewarded with a jewel collector. Once it is activated by swapping it to form another group, it will collect all the jewels above and to the side of it.
