This post covers the best slots to play at Ameristar casino. But several casinos are operating under the Ameristar band. So, instead of just covering the best slot machines at one Ameristar Casino, I cover the best slots games at each Ameristar Casino.

Popular Slot Machines at Ameristar Casinos

I haven’t played slots in every Ameristar Casino. So I had to do some research when writing this post. And one of the things that jumped out to me during my research was the availability of all of the popular slot machines at every Ameristar location.

This might not seem like a big deal to you. Every casino wants to offer the most popular slots games because it attracts more slots players. But I’ve been in plenty of casinos that only had a few new and popular slot machines.

Honestly, I expected Ameristar Casinos to fall in this category, as I don’t think of them as a leader in the casino industry. But after finishing my research, it’s clear Ameristar does a great job moving in new and popular slots games and moving out machines that don’t get much play.

I read a lot of reviews of land-based casinos, and many of the ones I read either don’t include a list of available slot machines or look like they just pull names out of the air. I verified that every slots game listed in the following sections was available in each casino when I wrote this.

Ameristar does take machines off the casino floor and replace them with new slots games. So the slot machines listed below won’t be on the floor forever. But as long as the games listed below remain popular, Ameristar will keep them on the floor.

Best RTP Ameristar Casino Slot Games

How do you choose which slots games you want to play when you visit an Ameristar Casino? Some slots players have favorite games. Other players always look for slot machines with the highest progressive jackpots. I like to take a few spins on new slot machines to see if I can find a new favorite game.

Some slots gamblers look for the machines with the highest return to player, or RTP. Slot machine RTP is directly related to slots house edge.

If you find the slot machines with the highest RTP when you play at Ameristar, your bankroll lasts longer. So if you don’t have favorite slots games yet, looking for high RTP games is a good strategy.

But Ameristar and other casinos don’t publicize the RTP for individual slots games. So you have to use trial and error, playing several different machines to find the ones that have the highest RTP.

However, I can share a few casino slots secrets with you to help you find the best RTP slots at Ameristar.

If you can afford you play $5 and $1 at Ameristar, you’re going to get the highest RTP. And if you can’t afford to play at that level, quarter machines are your next best option at Ameristar Casinos.

On the other end of the spectrum, the penny slot machines at Ameristar have the worst average RTP. So if you have to choose between two or more slots at Ameristar, always go with the slots game with the higher coin denomination.

And if you play slots at many different casinos, the same things hold true. Penny slots are popular everywhere, but they’re always the worst games to play.

Who Owns and Runs the Ameristar Casinos?

I suppose I might be the only gambler interested in the companies that own and run casinos. But I’m guessing that at least a few other gamblers are interested in these details.

When researching the details for this best slots at Ameristar Casinos post I knew there was more than one location operating under the Ameristar brand. But I found two Ameristar Casinos being run by one company and the other four operating under another casino.

Here’s what I found about the companies owning and running Ameristar Casinos:

Gaming and Leisure Properties, operating out of Wyomissing, PA, owns all six Ameristar Casinos. But Gaming and Leisure doesn’t operate any casinos. Instead, Gaming and Leisure owns casinos and leases them to companies that manage and run them.

The Ameristar Kansas City and the Ameristar St. Charles are run by Boyd Gaming. Ameristar Council Bluffs, Ameristar East Chicago, Ameristar Vicksburg, and Ameristar Black Hawk are all run by Penn Entertainment.

Boyd Gaming also runs two casinos using the Belterra Brand. And Penn Entertainment runs many casino brands including Hollywood, Argosy, and Tropicana.

Because two different companies run Ameristar Casinos, when you sign up for the slots club at one Ameristar your card might or might not work at another Ameristar Casino. The same slots club card works at both Ameristar Casinos run by Boyd Gaming, but won’t work at the Penn Entertainment Ameristar’s. And the same holds true the other way. With a slots club card from one of the Penn Entertainment Ameristar’s, you can play at any of the others run by Penn Entertainment but not the Boyd properties.

Conclusion

Ameristar Casinos aren’t as popular nationwide as some brands. But Ameristar Casinos are located in several competitive gambling markets. And every Ameristar Casino offers a wide range of slot games.

You can find popular slot machines like the Buffalo branded games, Link branded games, and 88 Fortunes at Ameristar Casinos. And you can also find plenty of your older favorites as well as plenty of machines with progressive jackpots.

If you’re looking for the top slots based on RTP at Ameristar Casinos, higher denomination slots games have higher average returns. And penny slots are the worst slots games at Ameristar for RTP.
