How to Play Crazy Eights

When you start a game of Crazy Eights, each player is dealt eight cards. The rest of the cards are placed face down except for one. This card is placed face-up and shows the suit that the players should start out with. The player left of the dealer or a random player if you are playing a computer version starts out. Each player discards if they have a card that matches the suit or number at the top of the face-up discard pile.

If you have an eight, you can play this at any time except on another eight. When you do play an 8, you can change the suit to any you want. The 8 cards are not the only special ones though. If you get a joker you can play it on anything except an eight, and then next player can play any card on top of the joker. If you play a 2 card, the next player has to draw two cards as their turn. Playing a 10 card makes it your turn again, playing an ace card skips the next player and playing a jack card changes the direction of play.

The goal of the game is to get down to no cards. Once you get down to one card you need to declare that you are on your last card, otherwise you will get cards as a penalty. The goal of the game is to get down to no cards before the other players do so.
