Finding the best slots to play at Border Casino in 2023 is a challenging task. But I’m going to tell you exactly how to find the best slot machines when you visit this casino sitting on the Oklahoma and Texas border.
The website for the casino might be the least helpful casino site I’ve ever seen. So, unless you actually take a trip to Border Casino, information can be hard to come by.
I revised this post in detail in March 2023. More revisions are coming soon.

Border Casino sits only five minutes from WinStar Casino so you have to consider if you need to play slots at WinStar or play at a smaller venue like Border Casino. I also have written a post about the slots at River Wind Casino in Tulsa.

- Money Bags

How to Find the Best Slots Games at Border Casino
Identifying the best places to play slots and the best slot machines in any casino can be challenging. In some states, every casino reports to the state, and the states publish the returns for slots players. But in some states, like Oklahoma, the casinos are owned by Indian Tribes.
And Indian owned casinos usually don’t have to report the same way to the states as other commercial casinos. Furthermore, Oklahoma doesn’t publish useful statistics about slot machine returns to help you.
Best Gambling Sites
| # | Gambling Site | Signup Bonus | Start |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | Slots.lv | 300% up to $7500 | |
2 | Bovada | 100% up to $3000 | |
3 | Ignition Casino | 150% up to $3000 | |
4 | Cafe Casino | 250% up to $1500 | |
5 | BetUS Casino | 200% up to $3000 |
To make matters worse, slot machine manufacturers don’t publish return numbers for their machines, and the casinos don’t want you to know the return numbers.
And the bad news doesn’t stop here. Most slot machine manufacturers give each casino options about the return the casino wants to be programmed into the machines. So the same slot machine might have better returns in one casino than another.
All of these problems mean you can’t find a straightforward list of the best slots games at Border Casino. But I can give you information about finding the best slots games.
I gathered information from many states that publicly release information about slot machines and their returns for the following tips.
- Penny slot machines usually have the lowest overall returns.
- $5 machines usually have the highest returns, but sometimes $1 machines and quarter machines also provide good returns.
- Returns range from 80% to 97% or 98% for most slot machines. But in some states, the returns are even lower, and in some states, the law dictates a minimum overall return of 85%.
- Every slot machine has a unique return percentage. So if you aren’t having any luck, try a different slot machine.
Return to Player Slots Percentages at Border Casino
In the last section, I mentioned returns and return percentages for slot machines. Using return to player percentage, or RTP, is the best way to compare slots games. Slot machines with higher RTP give you better odds than slots games with lower RTP.
I don’t know the RTP for any slot machine offered at Border Casino or the overall RTP for Border Casino. The only people who know this information either own the casino or work at the casino. But I can give you a range based on similar casinos in other states.
The casinos offering the best overall RTP for slots players come in around 92% RTP. And the worst casinos land closer to 85%. Not that it applies directly to this information, but slot machines located in places outside of casinos, like gas stations, truck stops, and airports, often have an RTP of 80% or lower.
Based on this information, I predict the overall RTP for slot machines at Border Casino lands between 85% and 87%.
But remember, an overall average includes slots games with a higher RTP and slot machines with a lower RTP. Border Casino offers some slots games with decent returns. The secret is finding the best machines.
Use the tips from the last section to find the slots with the highest returns at Border Casino.
How Many Slot Machines Does Border Casino Offer?
Border Casino offers over 2,300 electronic games on its 88,000 square foot gaming floor. And most of the electronic games are slot machines.
Border Casino offers a high limit slots area. When you enter through the main doors, turn left to find the high limit area. You can see the layout for the entire casino gaming floor here.
How to Find the Border Casino
I don’t know where the name for Border Casino originated. But it might be because the casino sits just across the border from Texas in Oklahoma.
You can find the Border Casino at 22953 Brown Springs Rd, in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It sits just off I-35.
If you’re driving north out of Texas on I-35, take exit one. Take a right on Red River Road, also called Merle Wolfe Road, and take the next right on Brown Springs Road.
Border Casino sits on your right just a short drive down Brown Springs Road. A service station sits to your right when you turn on Brown Springs Road. The Brown Springs Indian Cemetery sits behind the service station. And the Border Casino property sits behind the cemetery.
If you’re traveling south towards the Oklahoma-Texas border on I-35, take the last exit in the state. When you come down the exit ramp, take a left on Red River Road, also called Merle Wolfe Road. Next, turn right on Brown Springs Road.
For more information about finding the Border Casino, you can check the casino site at My Border Casino. And if you get lost you can call the casino at 580-276-1727.
Border Casino Review
When I review casinos they fall into one of two categories. Casinos are either what I call full service casinos or slots casinos.
Full service casinos are usually bigger than slots only casinos. But the main difference, as you can probably determine by my terms, comes from slots only casinos only having slots and electronic games.
The casinos I label slots only casinos don’t offer table games, poker rooms, or sportsbooks.
I’m not against slots-only casinos. But if you’re looking for table games, a slots only casino won’t fill your needs.
Border Casino is a slots only casino, although they do offer video roulette, too. That might as well be a slot machine. They offer a wide variety of slot games, so the casino can be a good choice if you want to play slots. They also have a dealer-less craps game you can play.
The Border Casino is surprisingly clean and well-furnished. It is a smoking casino, which might surprise some people, but the air circulation is good. The restaurant offers basic fare like chicken strips and sandwiches. The Border Casino even has a high roller room, which surprised me.
Overall, Border Casino was much nicer than I expected. I’ve included pictures I took from my visit there throughout this post.
There might be a better option for gamblers just a few miles away from Border Casino. I cover this in the next section.
Besides Border Casino, other casino properties owned by the Chickasaw Nation include:
- Ada Gaming Center
- Black Gold Casino
- Chisholm Trail Casino
- Gold Mountain Casino
- Goldsby Gaming Center
- Jet Stream Casino
- Madill Gaming Center
- Megastar Casino
- Newcastle Casino
- Riverwind Casino
- Saltcreek Casino
- Texoma Casino
- The Riverstar Casino
- Treasure Valley Casino
- Washita Casino
- WinStar World Casino
Is Border Casino Better than the WinStar for Slots Players?
Thackerville, OK houses two casinos. Border Casino sits 2.2 miles south of WinStar Casino. And in most ways, WinStar World Casino and Resort offers a better gambling experience.
WinStar Casino has 400,000 square feet of gaming space compared to 88,000 square feet at Border Casino. And WinStar offers 10,000 electronic games, compared to 2,300 at Border Casino.
You can also play table games, poker, and bingo at WinStar. And you don’t have these options at Border Casino.
But does this mean you should skip Border Casino and only play slots at WinStar Casino?
The answer depends on what you look for in a casino slots experience. I enjoy the game variety and selection at WinStar. But I also enjoy the smaller feel and crows at Border Casino.
You can find great slots games at Border Casino and WinStar Casino. Only you can decide if Border Casino or WinStar better fills your slots needs.
Conclusion
Now you know what the best slots to play at Border Casino are. And you know how to find the best slots games in any casino where you don’t know the return for individual slot machines.
If you enjoy playing VGT red screen slots games, Border Casino needs to be at the top of your list when you’re in the area. And if you travel to the area to gamble, Border Casino offers a good change of pace to the gigantic WinStar Casino a few minutes away.
