12 Signs You’ll Win the Lottery (Tips for 2026)

by James Lafferty-->

12 Signs You’ll Win the Lottery

Let’s get one thing straight right from the top: “Signs you’ll win the lottery” don’t really exist except in your imagination.

Are the signs right for you to win? Try over 250 different free slot machine games at Wild Casino. $5000 free with your first deposit. https://www.wildcasino.ag/

No lotto system exists that will guarantee winnings. No strategy, superstition, or magic trick can or will influence the outcome of a lottery game.

You can’t tell by the weight of a ticket, the phase of the moon, or the sun sign of the person selling you the ticket whether you are likely to win the lottery.

Besides, if there were signs that you’re going to get a big lottery jackpot, do you really think I’d be selling access to them for free?

My eBook on the 12 signs of instant lottery success would cost $1 million in Bitcoin, and I’d be a billionaire. So would all my friends and family members.

In fact, why would we be selling our secret at all?

Wouldn’t it basically destroy the lottery industry?

There’s a big difference between saying “I feel like I’m going to win the lottery” and literally feeling like you are about to win it. When I’m feeling like I’m going to win the lottery, I buy a ticket. I don’t do so with any actual expectation that I’ll win – it’s more like a stupid personal superstition.

Below are 12 common “signs” you’re going to win the lottery, along with some discussion on their relative merits and their accuracy at predicting lotto winnings.

1- Does Destiny Want Me to Win the Lottery?

Some people feel destined to win the lottery.

Is this a sign that you’re going to win?

There’s a common joke about this idea. When someone does something accidentally lucky – like guessing exactly how many hangers they need to hang the laundry – people will jokingly say “You should play the lottery.”

The implication is that feeling or being lucky makes it a good time to play a game of chance.

Here’s the problem with this way of thinking:

Not everybody who feels lucky can win the lottery. It just doesn’t make logistical sense.

How many daily lottery games are drawn in America?

Even if there are 4 games drawn in each state, for a total of 200 draws, that’s only 200 Americans a day who can possibly win. I have a suspicion that way more than 200 people a day feel like they’re destined to win the lottery.

Lotteries are drawn through random chance. They leave no room for one person’s emotions to get in the way and influence a result.

2- Am I More Likely to Win the Lottery if I Buy More Tickets?

When people ask me about buying more lottery tickets to increase their winnings, I automatically assume I’m dealing with a Richard Lustig reader.

Richard Lustig is a so-called lottery guru who promises to teach you signs you’re going to win the lottery and other lottery trick that guarantee winnings. He won seven big prizes over 17 years “totaling over $1 million,” and he’s probably made ten times that selling bad lottery advice.

I’ll break down Lustig’s method for you in one sentence – if you buy more tickets, you’ll win more lottery prizes.

In fact, if you could buy and then check a million lottery tickets, you WOULD be more likely to win.

However, you wouldn’t change your net winnings by buying more tickets, you’d just have more of the same longshot chances to win overall.

I hate how Lustig says, over and over again, that luck has nothing to do with winning the lottery.

I hate it because that’s exactly what the lottery is – a game of chance that rewards luck. There’s no skill in picking lottery numbers, just the luck of being in the right place at the right time with the right random collection of numbers.

3- Does Joining a Syndicate Make Me More Likely to Win the Lottery?

No, unfortunately.

This is more of the same lottery mythmaking that gave Richard Lustig a career in lottery strategy shilling.

Joining a lottery syndicate is no different from buying more lottery tickets. Obviously, the more tickets you buy, the more chances you have to win.

However, there’s no cumulative effect. Buying 100 tickets doesn’t make any of these tickets any more likely to win.

Joining a lottery syndicate should not be seen as a sign that you’re going to win the lottery, any more than buy hundreds of tickets makes you more likely to win.

4- Am I More Likely to Win the Lottery if I Avoid Consecutive Numbers?

Let’s start with the good news on this question – avoiding consecutive numbers doesn’t hurt your chances of winning the lottery. You won’t be any less likely to win the lottery if you avoid picking consecutive numbers.

The bad news is, avoiding consecutive numbers doesn’t improve your lotto winning chances, either.

Winning numbers don’t know what number they are. They don’t know what the other numbers are. They can’t influence or be influenced. They’re just numbers.

Believing that certain numbers are more or less likely to win in the lottery is the lottery’s version of the classic Gambler’s Fallacy. Winning lottery numbers are random mathematical events, and each one drawn is independent of the others.

If avoiding consecutive numbers makes you feel like you’re going to win the lottery, and you enjoy the games more when you follow that strategy, that means it improves your entertainment value. In that case, go for it.

Just don’t intentionally avoid consecutive numbers thinking it makes you more likely to win lottery jackpots.

5- Do Lunar Cycles Affect My Likelihood of Winning the Lottery?

Lunar cycles have no impact on the draw of lottery numbers.

If we could track our likelihood of winning the lottery by the phases of the moon, the lottery would be a different game altogether.

That’s just not how it works.

Modern lottery draws take place using a lottery draw machine. There are two kinds of machines used to draw lotto numbers – gravity pick and air mix. Regardless of which type of machine being used, you can see the balls through transparent plastic and tubing.

If the moon’s phase has an impact on the balls in the gravity or air machines, it would have an equal impact on all of them at the same time.

If this topic really interests you, and if you’d like to prove that you are more likely to win lotto games when the moon is in a certain phase, you can prove it by tracking your play on a lunar calendar.

You’d have to buy a ticket every day and compare your record to the moon’s different phases.

It might be fun, and if it makes you enjoy your lottery play more, then go for it. What you won’t find is any sign in the moon that you’re more or less likely to win lottery games.

6- Are Some Zodiac Signs More Likely to Win the Lottery?

I did a quick Google search for luckiest Zodiac signs in 2022. I got a cut-and-dried answer – Aries, Leo, Virgo, and Capricorn.

That’s interesting, because I have three of those signs in my household, and all three of us play lottery games regularly.

None of us have had a good or bad year with the lottery. In fact, it’s been about the same – you win a tiny bit, and you lose most of the time. That’s how the lottery works – it’s designed to return a low percentage of the money you bet in the form of jackpots.

Because lottery numbers are drawn by random chance, there’s no means by which a player’s Zodiac sign would be able to influence the outcome.

Let’s also consider some logistical problems here. There are 30 million Virgos in America. If all 30 million of them suddenly had a spike in lottery luck, they’d wipe out lottery programs within days.

If you’re staring at your horoscope and wondering “When am I going to win the lottery?” I have bad news for you. You have just as much chance of winning or losing as any other astrological sign.

7- Am I Going to Win the Lottery if I Play Every Day?

Buying more lottery tickets doesn’t make you destined to win the lottery. It just gives you more chances to play against the same set of odds.

Even if there were a lottery game with 1/365 odds of winning the jackpot, buying a ticket every day for a year wouldn’t guarantee a jackpot win. That’s because each day’s lottery play would give you the same 1/365 chance of winning.

Are you more likely to win the lottery if you buy 365 tickets a year compared to a person who buys 1 ticket a year?

Yes, because you have 365 chances while they only have one.

That doesn’t mean you should expect to net more lottery winnings than the single-ticket player.

That’s just not how lottery games work.

8- I Dreamt about Winning the Lottery – Does This Mean I’ll Win?

My wife has a couple of books on dream interpretation in our library. As a lark, I looked up what a dream about winning the lottery might mean.

Not once do these dream interpretation books instruct people to go out and buy lottery tickets after dreaming about winning.

Both books say that such a dream indicates concern over a big life change – one of the books even mentions that people may feel driven to buy a lottery ticket after a dream, but that the dream-state is not usually so literal.

There’s no special feeling before winning lottery prizes and no magic dream that’s meant to inspire you to buy a ticket.

Lottery numbers are drawn with gravity, air, plastic, smiling models, and a couple of live cameras. If the numbers were influenced by the dreams of billions of people, the results would be so chaotic as to be useless anyway.

9- Can I Make Myself More Likely to Win the Lottery with Positive Thinking?

I think there’s a kind of winning that may come from positive thinking.

Positive thinking programs our brains to positive actions. Negative thinking programs our brains to negative action. Psychologists have proven time and again that thinking negatively causes negative outcomes, and that the opposite is also true.

Can positive thinking give you a better life?

Absolutely.

Can it guarantee lottery winnings?

Not at all.

Since the cost of positive thinking is so minimal – I suppose you can say that it costs the amount of time it takes you to put yourself in a positive mindset everyday – I don’t think there’s any harm in incorporating positivity into your lottery practice.

Just don’t go into a positive mantra lottery winnings session with the expectation of a positive reward.

10- Does Playing the Lottery on Certain Days Make Me More Likely to Win?

This question reminds me of all the hysteria about slot machines.

People love to think that things like the calendar, the time of year, or even the time of day have some impact on games of chance.

With slot machines, it’s people convinced that casinos reprogram slots depending on the time of day.

The lottery doesn’t hide winning results on off days or limit winnings on heavy days or anything like that. The truth is, they don’t have to manipulate their results to be profitable. The profitability is baked into the rules of the game.

Look at the odds of winning any prize in Powerball – 1 in 24.9. That means you’re likely to lose on 23 tickets before you win any prize, which could be anywhere from $4 to millions of dollars.

Each $2 Powerball ticket guarantees players around $0.39 in prizes.

Powerball is going to make money regardless of what days the prizes are paid out.

There’s no incentive for lotteries to make winnings more or less likely on specific days. Their profits are built into the lottery system itself.

If you like buying lottery ticket on Fridays, on your way home from a hard week at work, then that means you get enjoyment out of restricting your lottery play to a certain day of the week. That’s a good thing.

But, of course, choosing to buy lottery tickets on Fridays doesn’t make you more likely to win, and you shouldn’t feel like you’re going to win the lottery because you play every Friday.

11- Do High Jackpots Make Me More Likely to Win the Lottery?

No – lotteries don’t pay out more often, and you won’t be more likely to win, just because a jackpot has climbed up into the high hundred-millions or even billions.

A player’s odds of hitting all five Powerball numbers (plus the Powerball) are 1 in 292,201,338. That’s true regardless of how many tickets are sold.

If anything, playing lottery games when jackpots are high might have a negative impact on your winning expectations.

The only impact that the number of tickets sold have on your winnings might come from having to share your prize with other players. When more tickets are sold, the potential for more winning tickets increases. Sharing a multi-million-dollar prize is a lot different from claiming it all to yourself.

12- Will Paying for Lottery Advice Make Me More Likely to Win?

I don’t sell lottery strategy for money, so I’ll be honest and say that you cannot learn any trick or tip from anyone that will make it more likely that you’ll win big lottery prizes.

The lottery tips and tricks industry is worth millions, and lottery players are happy to pay a few bucks for an eBook touting can’t-lose strategies.

You know how the only people who really made money from the California Gold Rush were the guys selling picks and shovels? Some people get rich on the lottery not by purchasing lucky tickets but by selling garbage strategy advice to impressionable lottery players with dollar signs in their eyes clouding their judgement.

Paying for lottery advice won’t make you more likely to win, but I suppose it could help you enjoy your lottery play more. As long as you don’t get a feeling like you’re going to win the lottery while you read it, and it improves the entertainment value of your lottery budget, there’s no harm in lottery strategy.

Just understand that lottery tips that make you more likely to win do not exist.

13- Bonus Lottery Tip – How to Get an Edge at Scratch-Off Tickets

For 2022, I wanted to update this post with a bonus lottery tip about how to get an edge playing scratch-off tickets. Here’s the general idea, and you can extrapolate the actual math on your own.

When the lottery prints scratch-off tickets, they publish the number of tickets with each prize amount. Over time, those get sold as the tickets get sold, but it’s a random thing.

It’s possible that the high-value tickets remain unsold after several weeks. If 50% of the tickets have been sold, and none of the high-value tickets have sold yet, the expected return for the game has improved dramatically.

This doesn’t guarantee you a win, any more than you’re guaranteed a win when you’re counting cards in blackjack. But, theoretically, if you only place positive expectation bets throughout your career as a gambler, you should eventually show a profit.

Conclusion

I wish I knew the signs you’re going to win the lottery. I’d play just enough to make myself a billionaire and then retire to a life of leisure.

Unfortunately, no signs you’re going to win the lottery exist.

People sometimes get sold on lottery systems that make them think they’re going to win the lottery if they behave or think a certain way.

I think lottery games are fun and inexpensive and can be an economical way to gamble. I also think expectations of lottery winnings are generally unrealistic.

But if you enjoy using your horoscope to help you win the lottery, and if that way of thinking helps you enjoy your lottery play, by all means, play along those lines.

Just don’t do so with the expectations of increased lotto winnings.

By all means — play the lottery and have fun, but don’t ever make the mistake of thinking that you’re going to beat the game in the long run.

I deleted the email address in this comment as I’m not interested in promoting a powerful voodoo doc on the site. Congratulations on the $2.5 million in profit last month, though. 🙂
